WRITING CAN LEAD SOMEWHERE.

The workshops are about getting words on the page, finding your voice and having the confidence to share your work.

For some writers, that work keeps growing — into readings, performances and, sometimes, a published book.

Lara O'Brien

the power of the prompt

Lara is a writer, facilitator and founder of the Howth Writing Workshops, where she has built a community around writing, sharing and storytelling. She also produces Hooks & Reels, bringing writers, musicians and audiences together for evenings of stories and song.

The Power of the Prompt grows out of that work, blending memoir, writing prompts and stories to explore how creativity, community and a simple prompt can help people find their voice and keep writing.

Eoghan Ryan

F*ck Everything &ND Run

Eoghan joined the Howth Writing Workshop five years ago. He started with prompt writing, moved into short stories and eventually began writing his memoir. Along the way he became part of Hooks & Reels and a regular contributor to the live events.

His first book, F*CK EVERYTHING &ND RUN, grew out of that writing journey.

Darkly funny and brutally candid, the book follows Eoghan through addiction, family life, the advertising world and recovery — with the humour, vulnerability and resilience that run through his writing.
